October 6, 2016 Opening Day Tour.

Thursday, October 6, 2016 was the first day of Paisley Park Tours. I was in an early VIP tour group.

The tour is limited to the music of Prince. Apparently, the tour follows the pattern of tours conducted by Prince for guests and performers visiting or working at Paisley Park.

Almost nothing of his personal and family life nor several areas of Paisley Park were included.

The sales kiosk was large and sometimes expensive. A coffee mug was priced at $12.

The nicely done souvenir book was reasonably priced at $22. The book contains photographs of Prince and his music career, which will be an excellent reminder of what was seen on the tour.

Ironically, the tour included a 10' "L" shaped display of the outside fence.

Displayed were items that were torn from the outside fence. To those who have visited the actual fence, the items seemed to have lost much of their character and most of their emotional content.

Indeed, the items were all cleaned up, made to look clean and pretty. A marketing display rather than an outpouring of profoundly felt emotions everyone feels at the "fence".

The ripping down of the items and hearts on the outside fence and cheap inside display should anger everyone respecting Prince and hurt those more involved.

If you feel as I do, express your views to the administration at Paisley Park and the City of Chanhassen.
