Prince wrote the song in 1985, but made Irish singer Sinead O'Connor famous in 1990.

J.dee Bolden, soprano saxophonist, with Third Stone Records, made “12-15-22-5 (LOVE)” a hit song and the song was placed in the film, “Losing Isaiah”, 1995.

Mr. Rogers in Episode 1689, August 31, 1995, used the combination in, In the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. At the end of the time in Make-Believe, Prince Tuesday and Neighbor Aber play hide-and-seek while Tuesday hides, Neighbor Aber counts, "12-15-22-5." Translating these numbers into letters (1=A, 2=B, etc.), these numbers spell out L-O-V-E.
