The Vietnam Women's Memorial is a memorial dedicated to the nurses and women of the United States who served in the Vietnam War.

Just south of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is the Vietnam Women's Memorial, which commemorates the 265,000 women that served in the Vietnam War, many of whom worked as nurses.

The 2,000 pound bronze structure stands 15 feet tall and depicts three uniformed women with a wounded male soldier to symbolize the support and care giving roles that women played in the war as nurses and other specialists.

During the Vietnam War, women served in many different roles. Many women served as nurses and physicians while others acted as air traffic controllers, communication specialists, and intelligence officers.

The Vietnam Women’s Memorial was established to honor the women who risked their lives to serve their country. The names of the eight women who died in Vietnam are included on the list of over 58,000 names on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial.
