As part of the 150 Year Anniversary of Minnesota's involvement in the Civil War, the Minnesota Historical Society and Historic Ft. Snelling presented a program called "Coming Home: Civil War Weekend", August 15 & 16, 2015.
The weekend featured the arrival by Mississippi River paddleboat of the 2nd Minnesota Volunteer Infantry and the mustering out ceremony. Approximately 200 soldier reenactors plus many civilian reenactors took part in the commemoration.
