1st Minnesota Infantry & Gettysburg: Soldier Top Of Minnesota Memorial

The 1st Minnesota Volunteer Infantry Regiment was the first regiment offering to fight for the Union army.

They achieved unparalleled recognition when in July 1863 stopped a Confederate assault at Gettysburg.

Without their sacrifices Gettysburg could have been a Confederate Victory, perhaps changing the course of the war.
